A group of ten of us were a little bummed the shaggy concert was cancelled so we decided to go to square grouper, been there a couple of times, not bad except for this time, My valid Id was cracked, the door man didn’t let me in so i was ok, let’s have the cop verify my id is valid; he did, still that wasn’t enough the manager on duty made it very uncomfortable for me and told me he doesn’t accept expired ids and told me flat out I have leave the premises like some type of criminal even with the cop verifying the Id is a valid id just a little damaged. It’s sad because I know the owner and helped permit this place when it was being built and still was treated poorly. I’ve been to a lot of high end night clubs with my Id and never have I been asked to leave. I will not be going to square grouper with that type of staff.
Tough review. Great location, food was good. Management needs to retrain entire staff. You should never be handed a rag to clean your own table. Have never been trained to be welcoming and customer friendly. A shame because great overall atmosphere.
The place is "tiki" and has a great location, however, the food is marginal. I had the fish tacos with coleslaw. The coleslaw tasted old with a wierd flavor and the fish tacos we're so salty, I could barely eat them. One also had a fish bone in it. Wine was old and serving size varied by the bartender. You serve yourself food and I have no problem with that. If they could get the food right, it could be a great place. With wind off the near ocean, the place can be very breezy and cool, bordering on cold. Would suggest they get awnings and side curtains for cold and wind.
Usually go here for drinks and the beautiful view. This is a casual place. Live music and decent happy hour. There is food to order at the bar. Not many options for vegetarians as of now on the menu. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
If you are familiar with the Jupiter location, this eerily similar, but done right from the start. Same drink list and food. Great friendly service. Downside is the prices are on the high end for what you get, but you have to expect that with a venue of this sort. Actually a better music venue because it has less zoning restrictions. "I'll be back!"
