The store also has a bar attached that allows smoking and both wreak of cigarettes something terrible. I don't recommend throwing your money away at roys, there are plenty of other liquor stores in the area that provide better customer service and product freshness.

The beer selection is nothing special, a step up from publix in some ways and falls short in others. The best beer for the buck is at Cobbs general store in the PP Cobb building just across the street from the Sailfish Brewery. The wine selection doesn't seem that impressive compared to other stores I've frequented but I'm not a wine connoisseur. The liquor prices seem to be average at best, no deals to be found at Roy's.
Excellent selection of wines from most every part of the world. At one time I had the privilege of working as Floor Manager and assistant buyer for the largest wine store in Texas (Dan's Wine Cellars in Austin, TX), and I can attest that - considering the small size of this shop - the selection is stellar. I was told that they hold tastings on Wednesdays "when the wine guys are there" - in other words, if you want wine knowledge that's the time to go. Otherwise, the staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be under the circumstances. Recommended.
These people are scumbags! The ugly old haggered blonde that looks like she's been drinking and smoking herself to death since she was 12 is one of the many problems with this place, she is antagonistic, rude, smart mouthed and far too opinionated for someone who mops floors and counts bottles for a living. The other ugly old haggered woman who works there is none to friendly either, very cold. The two men I've encountered at the counter are rude, sarcastic and smart mouthed as well.
If I feel unsure about a product they always lead me in the right direction.
Very good service and wonderful to talk to the people who work there.
