I was thrilled to find a sterling silver manatee ring at the gift shop in addition to other treasures. Admission to the education center was $1. There were aquariums and a touch tank. I got to hold a turtle.
Great spot to visit and learn about manatees!
A small place that teaches people about manatees. It has an educational video, coloring station, friendly staff, a gift shop that is inexpensive compared to other places, and a very nice viewing area. We did not see any real manatees but its worth stopping at. Kids will enjoy themselves.
When the family watched the 18min presentation on manatees- my son and I took a stroll along the backside of the cove and saw various lizards and a sea turtle. We traveled from central Florida to visit the center and are sure glad that we did!
There were signs and pictures outside and face cutout fulls zed pictures to put your face through for photos.

Great volunteers who know their stuff! The veiw is wonderful even if Manatees aren't around yet. The inside is always changing so never tiering to go back!
The place is nice from the outside. It was closed except Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
We were lucky enough to arrive when the mother and calf were in the cove right across from the education center. The volunteers that staff the facility were very accommodating to our many questions and helped to entertain our kiddos (boy 3y, girl 8y).
After our visit to the education center the staff encouraged us to visit Round Island state Park- river side-- soo glad that we did! We saw soo many manatees!
