I would have given them all 5 stars but there were some bad apples, my wife had been hospitalized for almost 3 months, 2 at the hospital and 1 at the physical rehab center, for most part the nurses at hospital was ok but the nurses and staff at the physical rehab center were great and the care was excellent and professional and they care about their patients, also the doctor's at both places were great and have gone beyond and above our expectations.
I unfortunately needed to go to the ER for an allergic reaction to fire ants, and I was so grateful for how wonderful everyone in the hospital treated both me and my husband (who arrived a little later). I was taken strait back and saw a doctor within 5 minutes of showing up. She was very kind and answered my many questions patiently and thoroughly, and took my concerns seriously. The nurse was also amazing and helpful (and knowledgeable), and very comforting throughout the experience. When it came time to pay the wonderful lady handling my bill was very friendly and professional, and we loved the option they provide where we were able to pay our bill right then, and with a discount for the same day payment. I felt very safe with the friendly police/security up front. As far as emergency room visits go, this was as good as it gets.
I would never recommend this hospital and urge parents to take their children else where.
This hospital is knowingly responsible for fraudulently billing their patients. They take advantage of self pay people. We brought our 5 yr old in to their pediatric ER for swollen glands (only because his pediatrician and all local ones were closed for a holiday). It ended up being strep which should have been the only thing they tested for first but instead they ran a bunch of unwarranted tests without consulting me first and when I asked what they were running they told me just basic blood work but this was not true. We saw a PA not a physician, and were asked to pay $500 upfront before they would even see him. A few weeks later we received a bill from the lab for $300 (after discount) for all the test and a bill from the "over seeing physician" (whom we never saw) for $1,300 for a level 4 (full emergency and complex case). When we contacted the hospital about the physician's bill they claim they have nothing to do with it and it doesn't matter that they are drastically over billing. Then the hospital is trying to bill us separately for the same physician level 3 (records don't match) and for the lab work (Which we paid separately, directly to the lab) and additional fees for being in the hospital all in all they want an additional $650 (after discount and the $500 that was already paid). We are in dispute with the hospital but no one there apparently handles financial disputes. It is completely illegal and fraudulent to over charge for services, double bill and it's a HIPPA violation for your records to not match and for the actually treating PA not to be on record. This hospital is a disgrace and should be fined for illegally charging paying clients.
My son was just a few days old when he was admitted for tests results on his newborn screen. We were admitted into the PICU with very clear test results and a diagnoses. They left him untreated for several days. They said they didnt know what was wrong (although I had test reults) He ended up going into adrenal crisis because they never treated the original diagnoses and had to be airlifted to another hospital. The endocrinologist never came and saw him, just tried to treat him over the phone with lab results. I cant help but think maybe if he would have seen him, he would have actually got treated properly. Lawnwood almost killed my newborn baby. I'm giving them one star because of the nursing staff. They were incredible
There can be no way to thank all the staff at Lawnwood for the care I received there last week for my heart problem. From the emergency staff to the operating room to the hospital room, the care was beyond anything I could have asked for. They were a team that saved my life and made me really appreciate everything they are so capable of doing. Clean rooms, good food, excellent care,a well oiled loving machine! I will always remember each one of you, thank you so much.
